frequently asked questions
If you have any specific questions then please do get in touch at hello@dreamalittlehandmade.co.uk but maybe you might find the answer you're looking for below!
How much notice do I need to give on an order?
I require 4 weeks notice for large bespoke items so I have time to schedule your order in and begin any work. You will not need to provide all the details until closer to the event, so the details you provide are fully up to date. I try to have your items delivered one week before your event. If your event is sooner than 4 weeks then please email hello@dreamalittlehandmade.co.uk to check availability.
I will not start any work until full payment has been made. You will be subject to a cancellation fee if you cancel your order after payment has been made, as work may have already started. This fee can however be transferred towards a new sign or other item.
Once a sign or item has been completed, this cannot be refunded or exchanged. I spend time talking to my customers during the order process to make sure there is an understanding of what should be included. I therefore ask customers to be as specific as possible with their requests.
Do I get to see my order before you send it?
I like to get as many ideas as I can from you as to exactly what you're looking for to make sure the end product is exactly as you dreamed it so please be as specific as you can be with your requests.
I like the board(s) so be a surprise but you can request a photograph of your item when it has been completed. If there is something that needs to be changed (not happened yet, knock on wood!) then I will make the change if time and restrictions allow.
Will my sign be waterproof/smudge proof?
My signs are professionally painted with oil or acrylic paints so will not rub off or fade. I use paint pens to do the designs which are smudge-proof and showerproof but I wouldn't recommend leaving them out in a deluge!
A dry wipe is the best thing to use to clean your sign but I cannot be held responsible for your design once it is with you.
What does postage include?
All items are carefully wrapped for posting and sent via Royal Mail (for smaller items) or Parcelforce (for larger items).
I cannot take responsibility for late arrivals caused by Royal Mail, or other circumstances out of their control (such as delays due to weather), but can file a claim if it happens. If this does occur (though also not happened so far!) then please get in touch and I will try to resolve the issue.
Do you accept returns?
If there is a problem with your order then please get in touch and let me know to see if the issue can be resolved. Some of the signs and other items are fragile by nature, so damage caused by improper handling or use (including dropping or scuffing) does not qualify a chalkboard or other item for a refund or replacement. I cannot replace your item if theft occurs after delivery.
Due to the bespoke nature of my work I also cannot offer a return policy but please get in touch if you are dissatisfied and I will work to find a resolution. If there is a mistake made by myself, and if circumstances allow, then I will make the changes. I definitely don't want unhappy customers so please email hello@dreamalittlehandmade.co.uk so we can reach a resolution.
Are there any terms and conditions?
In the event of any unforeseen circumstance where I cannot complete an order as agreed, I will give you the option to either receive your order at a later date or receive a full refund. I reserve the right to cancel and refund your order, in whole or in part, or deny business to anyone for any reasonable cause.
